Stella Udeze, a well-known personality in Nollywood industry, recently opened up about the problems encountered by actresses in maintaining successful relationships.
However, Stella Udeze blamed the challenges not on the individuals themselves but on common beliefs that have been held about Nollywood actresses. She identifies lack of trust as a major impediment.
In her words, “In Nigeria, many men see actresses as being promiscuous.”
She calls for perspective change stressing the need to distinguish between virtuous and disreputable people. “Recognition of our global exposure is pivotal here. Once these misconceptions are shattered, we will realize that actresses can indeed build some of the most fulfilling relationships”, Udeze told Potpourri.
While accepting that there are negative aspects, Udeze denies any possibility that those who possess such qualities dominate the industry.
“It’s important to differentiate between what is acceptable and what isn’t especially if it is believed that the industry has been compromised,” she added.
According to her, a great number of actresses are extremely caring partners currently having joyful marriages.
“My life is weird; I follow my heart every time and depend on instincts whenever they save me from disaster”, Udeze reflects on her personal life. “I embrace situations that resonate with me and walk away gracefully when they don’t.”
Udeze has been in films such as “Before Getting Married,” “Bleeding King,” “A Week to My Wedding,” “Melting Point,” and “Double Stud” among others since she came out in 2015. Her career trajectory remains an inspiration for many within the film world.
