The Kannywood film community is mourning the passing of one of its iconic actress, Sarah Gidado, popularly called Daso. Her death was announced on various local radio stations in Kano and this has had a grave impact on the entertainment industry in Kano State.
Daso’s family disclosed that she died peacefully during her sleep early Tuesday morning after the pre-dawn meal that precedes a day’s fast in Ramadan.
For over 18 years, Daso contributed to Hausa film industry through her exceptional talent and versatile acting skills which won many hearts of viewers across North. She was, before her remarkable career as an actress, a dedicated teacher.
Her death has left many people who loved and esteemed her in total grief and they are currently commemorating her life in their own ways. Her burial will take place at 4:00pm while several members of the entertainment community have poured glowing tributes to honor her.
Apart from being celebrated for feats achieved in cinema, Daso represented an ideal wife and mother. Her determination as well as love for profession has greatly influenced numerous male and female actors into joining Kannywood with hopes of realizing their dreams.
