A week after a Nigerian soldier brawled with an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, a LASMA official was seen being attacked by an unknown soldier in a video recorded on Monday morning, 14th August.
The incident reportedly occurred in Ojota area of the state.
This happened precisely after one week when there was a viral video of a soldier fighting LASTMA officer. It is believed that the clip led to this attack because it showed him using his club to beat up a soldier who retaliated by attacking him as well.
In a video that went viral, about eight soldiers were pictured mounting on and beating the LASTMA officer for some minutes. One of the infuriated soldiers smashed him heavily on the ground as others ran away from that place
According to Bolaji Oreagba, LASTMA’s general manager in a statement credited to him said: “We have reported the incident to higher authorities in army. They are already intervening in the matter; we will update you soonest. The action is highly condemnable.”
He said: “We have informed military high command of what happened. They are following up on it and made sure they take prompt action about it”, he told us.“Further information will be given later.” He added angrily
