A week after brawl between a Nigerian soldier and officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, an unidentified soldiers could be seen in video attacking a LASMA offer in the early hours of Monday. August 14.
The incident is said to have happened in the state’s Ojota region.
This came a week after a video of a soldier fighting a LASTMA officer went viral. The clip which shown the LASTMA officer beating the soldier with his club before the two men started fighting, is believed to have triggered the attack.
In a widely shared video, eight soldiers were shown grabbing the LASTMA officer, and beating him mercilessly for several minutes. One of the enraged soldiers was seen slamming the officer to the ground while his colleagues ran away from the scene.
LASTMA’s general manager, Bolaji Oreagba, has confirmed the incident in a statement that wsd credited to him.
He stated: “We have reported the incident to the higher authorities of the army. They are already intervening in the matter. We will update you in due course. The act is totally condemnable.”
