Fans mourn as Amaechi Muonagor, a veteran Nollywood star, died at aged 61 after battling a long illness.
Muonagor’s demise was disclosed to the public through a post shared on X by social commentator, Morris Monye, on Sunday.
According to reports, the actor had a kidney failure and was on dialysis.
Mounagor, a native Anambra State, passed away just a few days after he was seen in a viral video soliciting funds for him to have a Kidney transplant.
Monye wrote, “The passing of Amaechi Muornagor is deeply heartbroken.”
Monye described the late actor as a talent whose presence on the screens was truly masterful.
He added that while Muonagor was battling health issues, they helped him with all they could offer, and also sought to flee him to India for additional treaent. Then, he highlighted the importance of having a better healthcare system in the country.
uonagor is, from Idemili in Anambra, was born on the 20th of August, 1962.
In 2016 ABD 2017, he bagged am AMVCA nomination for Best Actor in a comedy.
Muonagor signed for the News Agency of Nigeria (MAN) in 1989 after completing his youth service. A few years later, he quit left the job to pursue a career in the movie industry, and features in his first film ‘Akunatakasi in Taboo 1’.
