President Bola Tinubu has replaced the nomination of Dr. Mariam Shettima, better known as Maryam Shetty with Mariya Mahmoud, another indigene of Kano State.
Mahmoud and Shetty is said to have been classmate during they junior secondary school days, and both also attended the Bayero University, Kano.
Tinubu had submitted a second list of ministerial nominees to the Senate on Wednesday, and among the names is a former minister Festus Keyamo, who was instrumented during the presidential campaign.
All Legit News gathered that the second list consisted of 19 ministerial nominees.
Nigerians have reacted differently to President Tinubu’s nomination of Maryam Shetty of Kano State as a minister on Wednesday were divided on social media, particularly Twitter.
While some were praising the President for nominating a young candidate, other were bashing him for choosing someone with little or no experience in the public domain.
Tinubu, through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila first submitted a 28-man list to the Senate to screen and confirm on August 2. ;
