Manchester City have confirmed the £77.6 million signing of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig, German club.
According to Pep Guardiola – City boss, a medical examination is being done on the 21-year-old center back before his presentation.
Gvardiol and another Croatian international Kovacic will be coming in as second summer signings for City who will be reinforcing their squad ahead of the coming season after they secured their Premier League title.
GistReporters.com gathered that the Croatian defender signed a five-year contract with City.
Gvardiol joined the Bundesliga side from Dinamo Zagreb in 2021 and subsequently made 87 appearances for Leipzig where he also won two German cups.
He has also made 21 appearances for Croatia at national level and was part of the team that reached the semifinals at Qatar 2022 world cup.
In his reaction after unveiling, he stated that it had always been his dream to play for any club in English premier league; following what Man city did last season by winning champions’ league, EPL and FA cup trophies respectively he says it is an honour to join such a side.
