Manchester City have announced the completion of £77.6 million signing of Josko Gvardiol from German club RB Leipzig.
City boss Pep Guardiola had revealed to reporters on Friday that the 21-year-old defender is undergoing a medical before his unveiling will be made.
The Premier League champions will be strengthening their squad ahead of upcoming campaign with Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic, another international from Croatia — City’s second summer signings.
All Legit News learnt that the Croatian has signed a five-year contract with City.
Gvardiol joined the Bundesliga side on 2021 from Dinamo Zagreb and went on to make to 87 appearances for Leipzig, as well as helping the club to lift the German Cup twice.
He has also played 21 times for the Croatian national team and played a key role for the team that reached the World Cup semifinals in Qatar 2022.
Reacting after his unveiling, he noted that it’s been his dream to play for a club in the Premier League, and having witnessed what City did last season, winning the Champions League, the EPL and the FA Cup throphies, ‘a honour for him’ to be part of the club.
