Are you looking for ways to share your data on MTN and you do not know how to go about it? Or the method you are used to is no longer getting it done for you? If that is the case then you are on the right page.
If the method you are used to has stopped working, it is because MTN and other network providers in the country have come together to form a single USSD code for their customers to share or gift data, as well as using the same USSD to top-up and check data balance, Airtel balance, and to borrow credit among other things.
In this article, I will be sharing step-by-step guides on how to check your data from your MTN number. You can also use this method on other network providers (Glo, Airtel, and 9mobile).
- From your MTN number dial *321*
- From the popup screen, select Gift Data
- On the next screen, select ‘Transfer from Data Balance’
- On the next screen, enter the phone number you want to share data with
It’s important to know that, sharing of data can only be done between two MTN numbers, you can not gift data to other network providers, such as Glo, Airtel, and 9mobile.
MTN has made it easier for it customers to share airtime and data from one customer to another. You can also use the *321* ussd to transfer airtime to another MTN number, by following the steps below.
- Dial *321* from the number you want to transfer airtime from
- Now, select Airtime Share
- Enter the recipient’s MTN number
- That’s all.
The ussd code should work for every network providers in Nigeria that allows it customers to share airtime and data among other users.
As at the time of writing this article, I can confirm that the ussd won’t work for Glo customers since it does not allow it customers to gift data.
