Festus Keyamo has thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing as the new Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development. He also promised not to disappoint those who supported him.
Keyamo served as the Minister of Labour and Employment during the tenure President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, during the screening of ministers, there was an uproar when it comes to Keyamo, after Senator Darlinghton Nwokocha of the Labour Party, who represents the Abia Central Senatorial District, raised a point of order.
He pointed out ways in which the former minister impeded the House of Representatives Committee’s ability to carry out its oversight function regarding the N52 billion released to his Ministry. In front of the Senate.
The Labour Party lawmaker also raise a motion seeking to postpone Mr Keyamo’s screening in compliance with statutory requirements.
Keyamo, later apologised to the senate, and his name was included among the confirmed ministerial nominees.
Reacting to his new appointment, he wrote on X, “Thank you, Mr. President. On my honour, I promise not to disappoint.”
