The newly appointed Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ilnsmingvhim among his ministers. He also assured his supporters that he would not let them down.
Mr. Keyamo previously served as the Minister of Labour and Employment during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, during the screening exercise conducted on ministers, there was an objection to Keyamo’s nomination when Senator Darlinghton Nwokocha of Labour Party representing Abia Central Senatorial District raised a point of order.
Before the Senate, he stated how the former minister obstructed House Committee on Appropriation from performing its oversight function over N52bn released to his Ministry.
In accordance with statutory requirements, Mr. Nwokocha requested that Mr. Keyamo’s screening be rescheduled.
Keyamo later apologized to Nigerian lawmakers in the Senate and received confirmation as one among numerous confirmed ministerial nominees.
Meanwhile, in response to his new role, he tweeted “Thank you sir! I promise I will not fail.”
Also on this list is a new FCT Minister named Nyesom Wike.
