Former Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, Uriel Oputa, in a recent onterview spoke about her suffering from amenorrhea.
According to Uriel, she was informed by her doctor that she might not be able to conceive again due to the condition which she described as the lowest point of her life.
The reality star revealed that she’s been having health problems for four years now.
Just like its name suggests, Amenorrhea is a medical term meaning absence of menstrual periods during reproductive years starting at puberty and ending at menopause.
“I had health issues before I started this wellness journey,” she told Hero Daniels. “One of them was that I didn’t have my period for four years. I went to doctors in UK and they said there’s a very high possibility that you can never have kids.”
“I became depressed. I was so much in the state of depression that I couldn’t watch children on TV. I would hate to and can never go past schools or parks where I would always be reminded that maybe one day, I might not become a mother.
“So it got to a point where I said to myself ‘Ok, if all fails, then my niece will be mine’.
“And until today, my niece and I are very close because she sees me as her second mother.”
The reality TV show is currently ongoing with some of its earlier winners such as Whitemoney, Mercy Eke etc. Also among those who made it were Angel, Neo and Uriel.
