According to reports, it is believed that the Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich about transferring the captain of England Harry Kane to Bundesliga.
Kane, who has been the best player for Spurs in a number of seasons, now has to make up his mind. And Sky Sports reports indicate that he is inclined towards remaining with the Premier League club.
His current deal with Tottenham expires after next season, and he is expected to decide where his future lies before the start of next season’s Premier League season which begins on Sunday 13th August against Brentford.
In order for Bayern to secure Kane’s service they would have to be prepared to pay a record fee to Spurs.
Despite finishing ninth last season and failing to secure a European place, the Englishman still managed an impressive 30 goals in all competitions in England.
Since joining Spurs, he has never won a trophy – their last was in 2008. He netted his maiden goal for the club in 2011 and went on score 280 goals out of 435 appearances.
This summer, many thought that established clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea would be interested in the 30-year-old player. However, that did not happen.
For instance, United had difficulty scoring last season because the club’s attacker Anthony Martial is not always available for games due to injuries. A number of the Red Devils’ matches last season occurred without the Frenchman, but mostly Marcus Rashford bailed out Erik Ten Hag’s side.
As a result of United’s struggles, quite a lot of persons are of the view that Kane would make an ideal hit man thereby giving him a chance to equal or even overtake Alan Shearer’s record in Premier League. Instead, the 20-time Premier League winners snapped up Ramus Hojlund from Atalanta for £70 million.
Others believe Kane will go to Chelsea following his previous coach Mauricio Pochettino joining Chelsea.
