The Rivers State Government, represented by Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, has vowed to protect its land, assets, and resources in border communities.
Odu expressed this commitment during a fact-finding mission to Umuru-Ofeh in Omuma Local Government Area.
According to her, neighboring states would not encroach upon their territory.
She also said the Peoples Democratic Party-led administration is commitment to protecting the lives and property of Rivers people,l.
The Deputy urged peaceful resolution of boundary disputes
.she praised Umuru-Ofeh for their peaceful stance and pledged a swift resolution to the issues, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in the region.
“Assurances has been given and a clear picture has been painted to the people of Umuru-Ofeh that this is a work in progress,” she said.
“This visit here today is the fallout of the last meeting we held in my office, I urge you to maintain the peace and that is the message we brought here today”.
