Reno Omokri, aid to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has disagreed with a social medial influencer who advised Nigerians to ignore work and enjoy the cold weather.
According to Omokri, the Asians, European and North Americans would sees rains as an opportunity for them to their farmlands to engage in agriculture in order to provide enough foods for themselves and also sell to the rest of the world.
But once it rains in Africa, we often sees it as opportunity to increase the population, fornication, and weather for two.
Reno believed it’s time to overhaul the African culture, adding that Africans pays more attention on on pleasure, and desire wealth without enterprise.
He also claimed that Africans uses religion way to manipulate God to fight their enemies.
He made this, after @Yeribabaa on X (formerly known as Twitter) tweeted: “Early morning rain. Tell your boss you won’t be coming to work and cuddle your spouse.”
Reacting to the post, Reno wrote, “Good morning beloved followers. I hope your day goes well. When I said that Asians, Europeans and North Americans would often see rains as an opportunity to go to the farm and practice agriculture so they can feed themselves and have an abundance to sell to others, while we in Black Africa ofttimes see rainy seasons as a time for copulation, fornication, and weather for two, my very own people insulted me.
Now, look at what this influencer is saying to our youth.
We need to overhaul our culture fundamentally. We are too focused on pleasure, and to too large an extent, we desire wealth without enterprise. We see religion as a way to manipulate God to fight our enemies and prosper us financially, rather than as a means to build ourselves morally and acquire virtues.
We have a larger landmass and twenty-one times the population of Israel. Yet, we import food from them and beg Israel for financial and material assistance, because of the type of mentality displayed in the attached post. We are so focused on reproduction, and have a low aptitude for reproduction.
Fact-check me. Our population in 1960 was 45 million, while that of England was 52 million. In 2023, our population is 220 million, while England has 67 million people. Yet, a little rain fell today in Nigeria, and our men are licking their lips and looking at our women seductively and going ‘weather for two’. There is no thought of ‘weather for agriculture’. Did God create intercourse for only the Black African?
May God help us help ourselves.”
