Primeboy has turned himself in to the Lagos police less than a day after being declared wanted.
The police declaration came after he failed to cooperate with an investigation into Mohbad’s death.
The police had on Wednesday offered a reward of N1 million for information leading to his arrest.
The Lagos police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Primeboy’s surrender and stated that he was taken into custody for questioning.
The police reiterated their commitment to a thorough investigation and bringing all those involved in Mohbad’s death to justice.
All Legit News had reported that Mohbad passed away on September 12 and was buried the next day.
Primeboy, who is a childhood friend to the late singer, is considered a person of interest in the case.
SP Benjamin’s confirmation post on X read: “Following his being declared wanted, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin aka Primeboy has turned himself in,” the statement reads.
“He has, immediately, been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions.
“The Lagos State Police Command once again assures family, friends, fans of Mohbad and the general public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring a most diligent investigation.
“The Command equally assures that all persons found culpable in the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad will definitely be brought to justice.”
It was gathered that Primeboy became a person of interest due to social media suggestion that there were a rift between the duo before his death, though the singer’s friend denied these rumors.
Nationwide protests have called for justice for Mohbad, and a special investigation team was established by the Lagos police to probe the case.
Autopsy results for Mohbad’s exhumed corpse are pending, and Naira Marley and Sam Larry, who are also suspects, were remanded in police custody for 21 days by a Lagos court.
