A Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State, remanded Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and his pal Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, in police custody for 21 days.
The Lagos State Police Command had requested 30 days for their investigation, but Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun ruled for 21 days.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, in Lagos and was buried the next day. However, some accused Naira Marley and Sam Larry of involvement in his death, a claim they denied.
Mohbad’s departure from the Japa’s crooner record label Marlian Music, strained the late singer’s relationship with his former boss.
The police invited Naira Marley and Sam Larry and arraigned them before a Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos, on Wednesday, where custody was granted for investigation.
Meanwhile, one Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy Has also been declared wanted for failing to respond to invitations related to Mohbad’s death.
Ibrahim is described as approximately 1.64 meters tall, male, dark-complexioned with tribal marks, and Yoruba by tribe, with his last known address at 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu.
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement said: “Following his failure to honour police invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command hereby declares wanted Owodunni Ibrahim aka Primeboy.”
