Manchester United have announced in a statement that English forward Mason Greenwood will not be returning to the club squad.
All Legit News learnt that the Premier League club came to this conclusion after an internal investigation into the allegations was carried out.
Greenwood was accused of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. However, as at the moment, it is unclear if United will sell him before the end of the transfer window, or will terminate his current contract which is expected to expire in 2025.
“All those involved, including Mason (Greenwood), recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Man United,” the Red Devils stated. “It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.”
Greenwood, 21, who was a product of United academy, was suspended from the clubs training and matches in 2022.
United have kicked off the new season with the arrival of new signees Ramus Hojlund and Mason Mount. And have recorded a win and a loss.
