Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has clinched the UEFA Coach of the Year award, beating Napoli manager Luciana Spalleti and Inter Milan’s head coach Simone Inzaghi to it.
Guardiola guarded Man City to their first ever Champions League victory, as well as winning the English Premier League and the FA Cup titles.
City were the best club on Europe last season and their striker Erling Haaland who won the PFA Award emerged as top goal scorer for both the Champions League and the Premier League.
As for Spalleti, he led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, and to reach the Champions League quarter final. While Inzaghi only guided Inter to the UCL final, where the club were beaten 1-0 by Man City.
The UEFA coaches award is an honor set aside to acknowledge outstanding achievements in European football from the previous season.
City are also the current chpions of the Super Cup after beating Sevilla on penalty to claim the title.
