An Anambra landlady Amaka Okonkwo is said to have poured hot water mixed with pepper on a lady because she could not pay her house rent.
The tenant Imabong William, according to reports failed to pay a new tenant, and had received a notice to vacate the building, but she asked for more time to look for another house before her landlord doused her in hot water and pepper.
All Legit News learnt that the incident happened on Thursday at the state’s Njikoka Local Government Area’s Enugwu-Ukwu neighbourhood.
The man, who is from the state of Akwa Ibom, was reportedly already receiving medical care at an undisclosed facility after being rescued by neighbors.
Amaka had since been taken into custody after her neighbors reported to the Nimo police station about the lady behavior
The state Commissioner for Women’s Affairs, Mrs. Ify Obinabo visited the victim, and disclosed that Anaka asked her to leave the property because she couldn’t afford the higher rent.
Mrs. Obinabo continued by saying that although she had requested some time to look for a new house, the aforementioned landlady came around on Thursday when she was washing her clothes and dumped hot water and pepper on her from behind.
She urged the residents to always report crimes and misdemeanours through the correct channels for early intervention, adding that anyone found guilty of assault of any kind will be brought to book.
