A former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has expressed his readiness to welcome the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ahmad, who posted on X, said the former Kano governor has the political clout to succeed anywhere
“We will gladly welcome Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso and his followers to our great party,” he wrote. “This is coming after a coalition of APC Youths, urged President Bola Tinubu to perfect Kwankwaso’s return to the ruling party.”
The party’s coalition leader, Ali Mai Sango, also believed that Kwankwaso’s rejoining of APC will boost the chances of the party in Kano comes 2027.
Kwankwaso came in a distant fourth in the last general election, winning only in Kano state.
