Reno Omokri, ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has vowed to celebrate with a dance if the Supreme Court rejects the appeal made by Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Omokri stated this through his X account, using the platform to criticise the supporters of Peter Obi known as ‘Obidients’ for their erratic behavior, insults, and lack of self-control in discussing important matters.
He pointed out that the ‘Obidients’ had ridiculed and insulted the Chief Justice of Nigeria Olukayode Ariwoola and his fellow justices. He also encouraged them to practice self-control and strategic thinking.
Omokri emphasized the importance of treating others with respect and restraint, as those you criticize today may be the same people you seek help from in the future.
He humorously named the dance he’ll perform “Obito Continua.”
His post partly read: “You mocked (Mr. Ariwoola) when he was on a wheelchair, as though you won’t also grow old. You made insulting caricatures of the justices of the Supreme Court, and have promoted all types of disrespectful narratives and rhetoric against them.
“You turned a section of the public against them with false conspiracy theories about them receiving bribes.
“Don’t you think they have children, friends and family who would have brought all that your movement did to their notice? Now, today, you guys are appealing to the same people you were disparaging.
“Learn self-control. Be strategic, not erratic. Think before you act. Know that those you insult today may be the same people you will consult tomorrow. And the people you condemn today may be the ones you need to commend you tomorrow.
“Now, after months of abuse and dishonour from you, you want them to honour your appeal. Anyway, I am already practising the dance I will dance when Obi’s appeal is dismissed. It is called Obito Continua!”
During the election Obi acted as the presidential candidate of Labour Party and emerged third. While Rono supported Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party who came as running up.
Both oppositions are challenging the result in court, but Omokri believes Presidents Tinubu is the legitimate winner, and accused Obi of splitting his xondodate’s votes.
