The newly appointed Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has bragged about the position given to him in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Keyamo, who was sworn in as minister on Monday, said his appointment was not a coincidence but a deliberate and strategic decision made by Tinubu. He also vowed to continue to build on the 2016 aviation roadmap.
According to him, he has thoroughly read the roadmap, and discovered that it was done so well, but said in case there are things that need to be changed his ministry will look at ways to amend them.
The minister said: “We may have to add to the roadmap but not to pull it down totally because I know it was a product of a roundtable held in 2016. So, if it was well thought out, I like the structure that I saw.”
He also disclosed to reporters that he is looking furtward to further to get briefings in the next few days and come up with proposals to develop the sector.
Recall, a lots of Nigerians made mockery of Keyamo on social media after his name was excluded from the first and second ministerial nominee lists, but he finally made it at the last minutes. And when it is time to screen him, he also encourter obstacles as some senators sought to suspend his screening.
He finally got confirmed by the Senate to become a minister, and he has promised not to disappoint President Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to serve the country, as well as Nigerians who have lost hope in him.
