Edo State’s deputy, Philip Shaibu has publicly apologised to Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The feud between Obaseki and his deputy, which seems to last longer took a new turn on Thursday as the embattled deputy governor openly apologized to his superior and earnestly sought forgiveness.
Shaibu made this while speaking during an ongoing interview at his residence in Benin City on Thursday,
Shaibu implored Governor Obaseki to extend his forgiveness and move past their political disagreements.
He urged him to find it within his heart to pardon him.
“I want to use this medium to appeal to Mr. Governor that if there is any thing I don’t know that I have done, please forgive me so that we can develop our state together,” Shaibu said.
“My Governor, I’m sorry and I need us to work together.”
This new development is taking place after Obaseki moved his deputy’s office out of the Government House.
The Governor then allocated the office to designated to the Secretariat for the annual Alaghodaro summit.
