he ongoing feud between Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, persists, with the office formerly occupied by Shaibu now designated as the Secretariat for the annual Alaghodaro summit.
Vanguard Newspaper reported that the decision came to light through a leaked memo from Obaseki, instructing the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, to assign the Deputy Governor’s office building to the Trustees of the Alaghodaro Summit for their permanent Secretariat.
The Chairman, via the Secretary, had previously requested a permanent secretariat for the upcoming 2023 Alaghodaro Summit, and the leaked memo indicates that the office closest to the summit’s venue, formerly used by the Deputy, should be allocated to the Board of Trustees of the Alaghodaro Summit.
It was gathered that the significant of the location for the trustees in the preparation for the summit is aimed to attract potential investors from various parts of Nigeria.
The summit is scheduled for the second week of November this year.
The leaked memo is dated September 18, 2023, with Governor Obaseki’s directive to take immediate effect.
Shaibu had accused Governor Obaseki in a recent video that he was being locked out of his office located in the Government House.
