UNDERSTAND WHAT THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION SAID ABOUT THE EDUCATION QUALIFICATION OF A WOULD-BE NIGERIAN PRESIDENT PART 1

Based on the Nigerian Constitution, a President does not need to have a School Certificate if he has an equivalent qualification or has acquire qualifications that are more than that. It’s there in the Constitution. Read it.

What the Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal said about President Buhari’s eminent qualification is in order because he has attain qualifications that are clearly more than the least qualification or its equivalent. In this particular regard, there’s no controversy. It’s clearly there read it, please.

If the Constitution says to qualify to be President you must have at least the equivalent of a School Certificate, if you have more than that least qualification, the Constitution says you are qualified.

The Constitution did not say possession of School Certificate is the qualification to be President. Look at it there. I didn’t put it there. The Constitution says he has to be educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. Has he been educated beyond that level? The answer is yes. So what is the trouble about? Why are we focused on the least qualification if his qualification surpassed it?

Mind you, the Constitution did not say to attain a qualification beyond School Certificate level, he must possess a School Certificate. If our Constitution didn’t say so why are we arguing about that? Quite frankly, we don’t need to like President Buhari to accept this fact.
