The Deification of Jesus Christ is central to Christian theology but is it thematic and didactic? Certainly not! Christianity is the outcome of revolutionary Judaism which espouses a strict monotheism.
In Deutonoromy 6: 4 Moses asserted that “God is One.” Nowhere in the Old Testament is this contradicted. In Mark 12:29 Jesus declared, ” Hear, O Isreal, the Lord our God is One”. This agrees with the testimony of the minor and major prophets and patriarchs before Jesus.
The Deification of Jesus is founded on the dogmatic Trinity. This is a fallacy. God alone is God. There’s no God before God and there’s no God after God.
God alone is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. In Luke 18:19 Jesus said, ” Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, that is, God”.
It’s a shame Christianity has replaced the message with the messenger. The messenger is Jesus. The Message is God. In John 7: 16, 17 Jesus established this fact, ” My doctrine is not mine but belongs to God who sent me…”
When Jesus said in John 10:30 that “I and the Father are One” he was not talking of equality but simply using a figure of speech called Metaphor presupposing intimacy and obedience to God which he himself clarified in John 14: 28.
