– Says there is no pressure from any quarter for her proscription.
The Executive Chairman of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area has again, reaffirmed the commitment of his administration towards ensuring that the Local Governments Vigilante Group, known as Omoku Security Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) is sustained.
Chief (Amb) Odili made this disclosure while addressing pressmen on Monday, he wondered why there would be insinuations from some quarters that OSPAC is on the verge of being proscribed.
He said “the administration was notified of a face off between the OSPAC and the Military, which led to the arrest of some OSPAC personnel over the weekend.
I, in company of the Members Representing ONELGA Constituency 1 & 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahiakwo Christian and Hon. Nathaniel Uwaji, has been making frantic efforts to secure their release. As I speak, we have made contacts with the Military High Command in the State and also the Director of DSS.
While we advocate that the OSPAC should act within certain confines of the Law, we want to assure ONELGANS that we will not allow anybody or Group jeopardize the efforts of the OSPAC. We know what OSPAC means to the average ONELGAN, and we will do all within our reach to ensure it is sustained.
Disregard all rumours of the proscription of OSPAC, such rumours are not true. There’s no pressure from any quarter for her proscription”, the statement added.
