The Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Akulga Chapter, joins the President and State Chairman of the Organization for a familiarization and solidarity visit with the Amayanabo of Okochiri, Kingdom, HRM, King Ateke Micheal Tom (JP).
Points highlighted were to thank the King for his support on Youth empowerment programmes and development, also plead with the king to call on all captains of industries, stake holders and political gladiators in the state to put more efforts and ensure youths have a source of livelihood and are empowered.
The PRESIDENT, Amb. John Nihi praised the king for his outstanding performance and doggedness in ensuring peace and development returns in the Niger Delta in the past and more development to come in the future. The president also frowned at the federal government decision in excluding youths from the cabinet thus call on the King to solicit and make the governor of the state keep to his promise by including 40% of youths in his government.
HRM, King Ateke Tom, while responding appreciated the Apex and authentic Youth body in Nigeria, for the recognition and award bestowed on him and made mention of youths being the fulcrum of government thus need to be armed with the necessary skills to pilot the affairs of the Nation since we are in a digital world.
Finally, the vote of thanks was given by the state Chairman, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo who praised the king for his time and willingness to work with the youths in the state, not forgetting his numerous achievements and contributions that the award “Father of the Youths” given to the King is to show appreciation for his effective and all inclusive style of leadership in the state and prayed for continued progress, long life and prosperity.
