I Never Revealed I Married My Wife A Virgin – Timi Dakolo

The dramatic events of Saturday where armed men laid seige at Timi Dakolo’s residence sent shockwaves across the country.

Timi Dakolo however organised for a press conference in Lagos were him and his wife Busola Dakolo came out open to further clarify certain details of the ugly incident.

While briefing the press, he revealed his wife told him about the rape last year.


In his statement, he revealed how his wife had made several attempts to talk him through the sad incident but fails to speak further not until last year as she finally opens up to me.


He further said after his wife revealed to him the truth which she her kept for so many years of our marriage, he was saddened that such a thing could happen to her in church.


Timi who then insist the wife should narrate the full details of the event promising to always support her in all ramifications, and ensure they see it together to the end.

He told the members of the press especially on the manner in which the letter of invitation was delivered to him and his wife on the 19th of July 2019 at his residence by the men of the Nigerian Police as he described the act as an intimidation against him and his household.

Timi also raised the alarm of alleged threat to his life and that of his wife a week after her Interview were she had publicly announced Pastor biodun Fatoyinbo raped her 20years ago.

While speaking further, certain people looking very strange have shown up in there house often without any formal invitation. He further stated that his wife Busola had earlier filed a petition on the 27th of June 2019 which is a day before she was granted the interview.

He also refuted claims that he is seeking financial gains with the rape saga.
According to him, he is a singer who makes money from performances as well as collect royalties from some of his works. He also added that he writes songs for some foreign artistes, even as he insist that sin and crime has a big difference and whoever has committed a crime must pay just as the law has provided.

Nigerians have encouraged the culture where victims of abuse are forced to keep quiet and carry the baggage to their matrimonial homes where they cannot even reveal such to their spouses.

While also responding to the allegation on how he had previously alleged he met his wife Busola a virgin, Timi said he never had an interview where he said such a thing and won’t blame rumor spreaders as they plan to turn the whole story around.
